Make a Google Shopping feed from WooCommerce

Upload the CSV from WooCommerce's product exporter and get a Merchant Center file with one item per variation, sale prices, stock status and links to your product pages.

What the conversion looks like

A small WooCommerce export and the Google Merchant Center file the converter makes from it. This is the converter's real output.

1. Export from WooCommerce

  1. 1In WordPress, go to Products → All Products and click Export at the top.
  2. 2Leave "Which columns should be exported?" and "Which product types?" on all, and tick Export custom meta only if you need it.
  3. 3Click Generate CSV. Variable products come out as a parent row plus one row per variation, which is what the converter expects.

2. Import into Google Merchant Center

  1. 1Enter your store's address and currency above the converter, so each product gets a link and every price a currency code.
  2. 2Run the file through the CSV Fixer with the Google Merchant Center preset to check GTINs, prices and required attributes.
  3. 3In Merchant Center, go to Products → Add products → Add products from a file, and upload the .txt file. Google checks it and lists any problems under Products → Needs attention.

What doesn't carry over

Before importing, run the file through the Google Merchant Center CSV fixer to catch anything Google Merchant Center would reject.

Questions

Do I need a feed plugin?

Not for a one-off or occasional upload. Plugins keep the feed in sync automatically; this converter is free, needs no plugin and lets you check every value before Google sees it.

Where do the links come from?

From your store address plus /product/ and the product's slug, which is WooCommerce's default permalink. If you use a different permalink structure, edit the links before uploading.

What about products without a brand?

WooCommerce has no brand field, so brand is empty and the converter warns you. Fill it in with the manufacturer's brand, or your own for products you make.
